Practice & Philosophy
Too often, women say, “I just wish I had more time with my doctor.” Here, you do. We take the time to tell your story, explore your symptoms, and create a plan that fits your goals and lifestyle.
Our work usually begins with your concerns — hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, libido shifts, weight changes, or questions about hormone therapy — but goes deeper into what truly matters: your energy, your purpose, and your long-term wellbeing.
Using evidence-based medicine, hormone optimization, and integration of lifestyle medicine recommendations, I help women navigate midlife transitions with confidence and grace. This is not just about treating symptoms — it’s about reconnecting with yourself and thriving with strength and clarity.
Why I Don’t Bill Insurance
I’ve chosen not to contract with insurance companies so that I can prioritize you — not billing codes.
Insurance-based systems reward brief, fragmented visits. In contrast, the direct care model allows me to offer longer, more thoughtful appointments, flexible follow-up, and individualized plans without outside restrictions.
Conditions Treated
Midlife health is complex — and deeply personal. My focus is on helping women understand and manage the interconnected changes that occur during perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.
I primarily assess and manage:
Consultative Review & Second Opinion
In addition to ongoing care, I offer a one-time consultative review or second opinion for women seeking guidance, clarity, or reassurance about their options.
If you’re feeling unsure about what’s happening in your body—or overwhelmed by all the information about menopause, hormones, and midlife health—you’re not alone.
The comprehensive initial intake can serve as a one-time consultation to help you make sense of your symptoms, understand your options, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
During this visit, we will:
This type of visit is ideal if you:
My goal is for you to leave this visit feeling informed, empowered, and confident about your care choices.
Collaborative Care Philosophy
Your care doesn’t happen in isolation — and it shouldn’t. My consultative practice is designed to complement, not replace, your existing medical care.
This collaborative approach ensures that your care feels connected, supported, and grounded in partnership — because your health journey deserves that level of attention.
What to expect when working with me
Every patient’s journey begins with a Comprehensive Initial Intake (60 minutes) — a deep dive into your health story, current concerns, and goals. This visit is designed to give you clarity, guidance, and a personalized roadmap for your wellbeing. My goal is to make this process collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your needs.
Preparing for Your Visit
After you book your appointment, and before your appointment, you’ll receive detailed intake forms asking about your symptoms, health history, and goals. Completing these forms as thoroughly as possible is worth the investment — it allows me to review your information ahead of time so we can focus our visit on what matters most to you. The more detail you provide, the better I can understand your unique health picture and tailor recommendations to your needs.
During your visit, we will:
This comprehensive visit allows us to explore your symptoms, health history, and current treatments in depth, discuss hormone therapy or other medications, lifestyle approaches, and create a clear treatment plan for your personal health journey.
Next Steps & Ongoing Care
Ongoing care is individualized to each patient based on their needs. Follow-ups can be scheduled in person or via telemedicine, with secure messaging access between visits for guidance, questions, or check-ins. Options include:
After your comprehensive intake, we will discuss what approach best fits your needs and goals, giving you the flexibility and support to continue your midlife health journey on your terms.
Follow-Up Appointments
When you book a follow-up appointment, you’ll receive a short set of forms asking about how you’re feeling, any changes in symptoms, and updates on your health. Completing these forms before your visit allows me to review your progress in advance, so we can focus our time together on next steps in your care.
This approach ensures each follow-up is productive and personalized, helping you stay on track with your health goals while making the most of our time together.
Annual Appointments
For ongoing patients, a minimum of one annual follow-up is recommended. This visit allows us to:
The annual appointment ensures that your care remains safe, effective, and tailored to your evolving health needs, helping you stay on track with your wellness goals year after year.

About Dr. Kimberly Nicoll, MD, DipABLM, MSCP
A native of Western Massachusetts and a graduate of the UMass Amherst Honors College, I earned my medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed my Emergency Medicine residency at Yale in 2010. Following several years of proud service in the United States Air Force, I transitioned to a role as an Emergency Physician with a major HMO in Northern Virginia.
With over 20 years of clinical experience, I bring a nuanced understanding of women’s health—ranging from acute, complex conditions to the subtle transitions of midlife. Throughout my career, I witnessed a recurring gap in care: perimenopause and menopause symptoms were often under-recognized or fragmented across specialists. Furthermore, a lack of proactive preventive care frequently left patients with no choice but to seek "sick care" in the ER once symptoms became unmanageable.
Driven to close this gap, I obtained board certification in Lifestyle Medicine and advanced certification in Women’s Midlife Health. Today, I provide evidence-based, personalized care that addresses both immediate symptoms and long-term vitality. My approach is deeply personal; having navigated a challenging decade of perimenopause myself, I am committed to providing the empathetic, knowledgeable care every woman deserves.
When I’m not practicing medicine, I’m a wife and mother to four teenagers. I am passionate about modeling a healthy lifestyle for my children and can usually be found at the gym lifting heavy weights.
